Support

It is to the Divine that all riches belong. It is the Divine who lends them to living beings, and it is to Him that they must naturally return.

The Mother

Sri Aurobindo Sadhana Peetham is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and depends on donations from guests and integral yoga devotees for the maintenance of the ashram facilities, programs and meals.

There are many ways to help serve existing activities and to expand programs to keep pace with the growth and aspirations of the wider collective.

Work Contributions

Karma yoga is a major focus at Sri Aurobindo Sadhana Peetham, and we welcome volunteers who would like to come out to the ashram to join the residents in work offered to the Divine. Feel free to contact us to discuss possible karma yoga activities, and see the visiting page for more information on overnight stays.

Financial Contributions

Monetary contributions help to support the ongoing operations of Sri Aurobindo Sadhana Peetham. Donations are tax deductible (for those able to utilize charitable contributions on their US federal and/or state tax returns).

Grace Fund

The Grace Fund has been established with the help of Sequoia Wealth Advisors as a place to accumulate funds for future large capital expenditures. Here the funds can be consciously invested until such time as they are needed. The new cottage, the purchase of the surrounding land, and the expansion of the Meditation Pond are just a few projects currently in process or under consideration. There are two ways to donate:

First, if donating by check, please make the check out to “Sri Aurobindo Sadhana Peetham” and include a note that specifies “Grace Fund”. Donations can be specified for certain purposes (like future land purchase), or they can be left unspecified.

Secondly, with the creation of the Grace Fund there is now the option of directly donating stocks, bonds, or mutual funds, which provides a significant tax benefit to the donor. For an overview, please see the Effective Ways to Give video. For more detailed information on how to donate stocks and the potential tax benefits by donating in this way, please contact Kristina Kuprina of Sequoia Wealth Advisors at (408) 645-2500. As always, all gifts are greatly appreciated.

Endowment

The Sri Aurobindo Sadhana Peetham New Creation Endowment Fund is a well-structured and flexible endowment program for the long-term financial sustainability of SASP. The Endowment can be supported with current Financial Contributions and through Estate Planning gifts.

Estate Planning

Unused assets available at the end of life can be used to help ensure SASP’s long-term future. Please consider some of the ways you can name SASP as a beneficiary of a living trust, will, retirement plan, or other asset described on our Estate Planning page.

Charitable IRA Rollover

Those over age 70 1/2 may make a tax-free gift to SASP directly from an Individual Retirement Account (IRA) via Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCD’s). For more information, please see our guide to Charitable IRA rollovers.

Gifts in Kind

We gladly accept in-kind gifts such as furniture, vehicles, gardening equipment, building supplies, etc. If you have material items for donation, please contact us to see if they can be of use. Tax-deductible donation receipts are available upon request for items with significant value.
